Type Go SAVE and you will see all the options there, from saving DLO and IFS, to a full save, savchgobj, etc.

Some practical tidbits – We use SAVLIB *Alluser as our main recurring backup. We go straight to a tape, but you can go to a SAVF (faster) if you have spare disk space. You can save all or only save changed objects (but then you’re reliant on every SAVCHGOBJ since your last full save).
SAVSYS copies your OS400 plus some related stuff. Don’t need to do this often – ours is mainly just before & after we apply PTFs.
Other odd methods I’ve used are …
CPYF critical files to a 2nd library and save those (this was more useful before they came out with the Save While Active option)
FTP data files directly to a hot site (good to send a whole SAVF but usually this takes too long to be useful)
Last but not least, I sometimes Email a critical spreadsheet, Doc, etc. to myself – thus I have a backup out in “Email land”.
