I use OEM stand-alone and you can not do a DB Dump using OEM in stand alone mode. I have never used OEM in server mode so I am not sure if you can do this. May I ask why you want to do his via OEM instead of logging in and doing the dump?
I would suggest creating a script that will do the backup for you. Do you want to to a cold or a warm backup of the Database? What version of Oracle are you running? Did whoever left you in this position have a backup and restore strategy?
