Backup Exec 9.1 SP4 fail to install.
Greetings - I am trying to upgrade my Backup Exec 9.1 SP3 install to SP4. I receive a message stating that I need to install SP2 in order to install. Just for grins I installed SP2 again and no luck. Ran the beutil to repair the database as suggested in a Veritas article and still no luck. Any ideas? Anyone run into an SP4 install issue? This has happened on 2 of 5 W2K3 servers for me. Thanks

You might try removing and reinstalling the entire application. Just make sure you save the directories containing your job logs, scheduled jobs, and catalogs as well as your NDMPSVRS.DAT file. Check for an installation with SP4 slipstreamed into the setup.

I had the same problem. Here is the fix I found a couple of weeks ago. Basicly it appears something is wrong with the way Veritas validates previous installs. The same issue was found by some performing the SP2 > SP3 upgrade.
