In my many attempts to get this working, I have now created an additional problem. Now, the Backup Exec Remote Agent is not in the services list. Without this service, the BE Job Engine will not start. I'm going to try and run a repair on the installation today to see if this helps. I'm running 2003 server and it's not up to date. Do you think completing the windows update will effect anything? Yes, the service has been restarted.
