Backup Exec 11D error

Symantec Backup Exec 11D, Backup, Symantec

I get the below error when trying to run a backup job. The service credentials have not been changed. I changed the password on the server, updated BE with new info, and same problem. Created account on the machine locally and same thing. Test runs are successful. So, the username/password should be fine. This server is only backing up itself.

"Final error: 0xe000fe29 - Authentication failed on connection to the server. Make sure that the user account has the appropriate permissions and that the password was typed correctly.
Final error category: Security Errors

Access denied to Remote Agent ......"

Have you restarted the service since you changed the password?

Yes, the service has been restarted.
In my many attempts to get this working, I have now created an additional problem. Now, the Backup Exec Remote Agent is not in the services list. Without this service, the BE Job Engine will not start. I’m going to try and run a repair on the installation today to see if this helps.
I’m running 2003 server and it’s not up to date. Do you think completing the windows update will effect anything?

Well, I got it working. LiveUpdate and Windows Update seemed to correct all the problems.
