    Denny, here is what I am trying to do, restore test DB with the production backup, but there are couple table that I do not want to restore, is there any way to do this? Thank you. regards, eddy.

    Using the native tools, no. Backups and restores are an all or nothing process. If you have SQL Lightspeed by Quest Software you can select a specific objects to restore. However if you have a lot of tables to restore this will probably take quite a while. Your best bet will probably be to restore the entire database, then drop the tables you don't want, or better yet truncate them so that you can keep the tables in the database.

    Thank you Denny, I like your last option but how would i do that? I do the right click on the database -> all tasks -> restore database -> from devices -> select my .BAK and so on; now where do I truncate the table (objects) that I do not want to restore ? please provide the step thank you. Best regard. eddy
