Answer Wiki:
Hello, When using BRMS to save data encrypted, additional software is required. In the BRMS manual, SC41-5345-06, the following is stated "BRMS provides you with the ability to encrypt your data to a tape device. This encryption solution is hardware independent, meaning no need for any encryption device. To use the encryption function, you need to have the BRMS Advanced feature (5761-BR1 Option 2) and Cryptographic Service Provider (5761-SS1 Option 35) installed on the operating system. " The correct option for Cryptographic Service Provider is Option 44 and not 35. See WebSite.... http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=0&q1=%2bbrms&q2=encrypted+backups&uid=nas1a62af1e29343652f862573b0007c689c&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&cc=us&lang=all TPinky
