IBM Tape Libraries
We are using IBM tape library TS3100. In past 2 days, when backup started the tape was automatically came out to IO station. The backup was in MSGW state and was asking for media. When I inserted the tape again and replied with G, the backup was started as usual. Does anyone know why it happened? How tape came out to IO station? I had checked the logs but not found the reason behind it.

It sounds as though the drive determined there was no space available on the tape. What was the message you responded to? That should give you a starting point, at the least, to resolving the problem.

What was the message you responded to? And the answer should include the message identifier. Also, if any related messages can be found immediately before it in the joblog, those might be the actual messages that tell the error condition. Tom
