Automated testing for Migration from AS/400 to Mainframe
I am planning a solution for a Migration Project from AS/400 to Mainframe. Writing to you to find if you can please suggest any tool that might 1. Capture all key strokes during Online data feeding on the AS/400 (OS/400, DB2/400, COBOL, CL etc.) 2. Replay sequentially all of the captured events and data into the Mainframe (z OS, i-Series, COBOL, DB2, CICS) application and automatically run relevant portions of the application; give output (data values) of the run 3. Compare input and Output data set (optional)

Answer Wiki:
I don't know of any. You could hire a very savvy programmer that could probably capture that info or call IBM Support and see what they have in their tool bag. I have never heard of anything that would accomplish that on the System i side of things. Client Access for 5250 emulation on the iSeries can record a macro file. Either in a VBSscrip format, or a macro format. You can then copy or edit the file to your needs.
