You don't have to [<i>B]BE</b> </i>QSECOFR, but you must have Service tools authorities. Most sites provide alternative USerId profiles to avoid 'accidental' use of powerful functionality. You can use your profile to log into SST ( If you have authority ) STRSST ( Option 8 Work with service tools user IDs and Devices ) Option 1. Service tools user IDs select option 1 to create Service Tools User ID

If you haven’t changed your other default SST pwds you should consider it. All systems are shipped with QSECOFR and 11111111 and 22222222 profiles with the profile the default pwd. If you get audited you will get nailed if they are still the defaults.
