end of fiscal year audit auditors are asking for a list of all journal entries. Has anyone put a process in place to handle this?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Print the journal entries for a month, hire a truck to deliver them, and tell them you can do the same whenever they want.

You realise the request is for ‘all transactions’ across ‘all files’ – unless qualified.

Do your auditors have any idea of what they are auditing? I'm only asking because unless they have worked with an AS/400 before they usually are clueless. Are they asking for "audit journal" entries or for journal entries on your database files? Have you turned on journaling? We journal literally everything because we are using a Vision product to "mirror" our system to a DR site. We are also required by management to keep 30 days worth of history on-line. That's a considerable chunk of DASD just for journal recievers. (about 64 GB, and growing). I would ask exactly what they are looking for, and go from there. Regards Mike

are you talking about system journal entries or General Ledger Journal entries? I am guessing they mean the accounting journal entries. Ann

Ann could be right. Just aas Mike said - Auditors are clueless. Unless they can bill you for ticking something...

We just completed an audit. The request was for General Ledger journal entries. I'd be surprised if 1 auditor in 10,000 is aware iSeries journaling.
