We have a script which allows internal messages between users. We'd like to let users add attachments as well, but we are afraid of the virus risks.
Using Yahoo and other mail providers whenever you open or attach a file attachment or image you'll usually see a "Scanning attachment" message, along with a little MacAfee logo or Norton logo.
Have any of you ever put such a system onto your own company's server? So that attachments to internal messages are scanned 1st by some brand name service. But, hopefully, not at thousands of dollars per year for licensing. Some kind of attachment scanning that looks at files as they are being uploaded - but that isn't Blue Chip/Fortune 500 expensive.
