How to configure IVR in Asterisk server?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

This is not a question that can be answered in a couple of lines.

In general, you will need to create a Dialplan that does that. The dialplan is specified in the file named “extensions.conf

There is an excellent book called “Asterisk, the future of telephony”, which I would recommend reading.

You can download it from here.

Chapters 5 and 6 explain how to create a dialplan.

Hope this helps.

You can also look up some of the helpful guides by Allison Smith (the voice of Asterisk) on youtube. She explains a number of things to take into account when building an IVR so as to not annoy the person calling.

    Try http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sj28nGWCyM or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwE6MOjvjEQ

Also there will be a new one on the Astricon 2014 site from this year's conference where she presented the "New rules for IVR". It should be posted in December.
