I have a file that was created in PDM on the AS400 and assimilated into SYNON. I have added some more fields to the file in PDM and compiled the file, but cannot get it to assimilate into SYNON again. There are no errors but the fields do not show up. Can anyone tell the the steps I should be doing?

Software/Hardware used:
AS/400 ,OS2, SYNON

Wow, I haven't worked with Synon in about 10 years. What release of Synon and which vendor (Sysnon, Sterling, CA?) I can check if I still have any Synon documentation.

You need to add the same fields in to the model. ensure that the dds names assigned are the same ones you used in PDM. When the model file matches your new reality, you can regenerate the functoinbs using it. You would not need to regenerate the files in the model, but the files must be in the compile library list. It woudl be better to change model defined files in the model, and export them to your other environments. Why? - better audit trail. Guarantee of consistent name allocation - guarantee of no naming collisions - unlimited narrative text available - prompted, helpful input for field attributes - potential for user created edit/translation functionalityy - quick and error free blah blah..
