what kind of storage are you running? the best comprehensive tool i've seen so far is the ZFS storage manager but that's only for oracle storage. my second best would be the Symantec Storage Foundation suite.- this software gives you a pretty comprehensive idea of what's going on in your storage plus all bunch of features like provisioning , HA and many others if you want.
