 As4oo writer timing out
We have been experiencing a problem with printing from the iSeries to a Xerox WorkCentre Pro 128 since we installed it, but have finally figured out today, the set of circumstances which cause our problem. The problem is that sometimes a spool file from the iSeries goes into a message wait (CPA404F). The problem is caused when someone is making copies on the XEROX at the same time some one sends a print job from the iSeries. If the person making the copies completes their copies within a short time frame and the XEROX is no longer in copy mode, if an R is taken the print job will print. If it?s longer than a minute, the print job goes on HLD and the writer ends. I tried changing the INACTTMR to *NOMAX, but it did not resolve the problem. I can not change ACTTMR to *NOMAX.

Answer Wiki:
I'm assuming that the device class is *LAN. If so, the recommended value for INACTTMR is *SEC15. This is what I always use and I have never experienced your problem with similar printer/copiers.
