 AS/400 Vs. Microsoft System Administrator
AS/400, Microsoft System Administrator
I am working on some organization as a System Administrator for Microsoft Windows Environment, here i am getting Rs. 20000 salary. but now i got job to work with AS/400 platform, but salary is Rs. 5000. is this good to move on AS/400 or else continue with My present job. i am getting very confusion, plz Assist me

There is no real answer. You'll likely only get advise... as such I'll throw my two cents in... Not every company has an AS/400 and not every company has Microsoft products. But, MORE companies have Microsoft products than have AS/400's --- atleast my experience has lead me to believe this fact. In short, think of your career chances <i><b>after</b></i> working at this company.

Hello,
First, I would like to know what´s the position that the new job offer to you?

Second, You are talking about one quarter of what you are doing right now, are you sure that you can afford it?

Third, AS/400 is not a system that every company can afford that means, in theory, if the company has the requeriments and the money, this should be a place where you can grow, in the other hand is quite simple to undesrtand why more companies use microsoft over a lan enviroment.

Fourth, check your local job offers and see what could be more attractive for a future.

I believe that it all depends on your life goals. Certinately, both systems are in it for the long hall. As too
Unix/Linux. It would be good to have a recorderable background/education in multiple platforms.

Then location is important. If in a heavy manufacturing area that will hava bearing. If in a financial district
that too will sway your goals.
