 AS/400 V5R3M000-2924 Print problem
A clent is having a problem printing a report. This is on an IBM AS/400 operating system is V5R3M000-2924. A report is software set to print two copies. It spools two copies but only prints one copy and the second one disappears from the outq. Says that it does the same thing no matter which printer he sends it to. I am thinking that since it spools two copies that the operating system is having a problem and that there may be a PTF that covers this for the operating system level. V5R3M000-2924. Any ideas?

Hi, How are the printers connected? It's a known problem that IP attached printers seem to ignore the number of copies. I believe there is a workaround for this. Regards, Martin Gilbert.

Yes, I would be interested in trying the workaround.

Hi,

You need to change the “destination options” on the output queue to “XAIX”, then the attributes like number of copies, start and end page ranges, etc should get passed to the printer.

You may find that you can’t change the existing output queue – you may have to remove the old queue and create a new one. I suggest you create a test output queue to try this first, and if it solves your problem then replace the old output queues.

Regards,

Martin Gilbert.
