Q:
AS/400 to Java migration
Hello,

could someone suggest me an appropriate tool for AS/400 to Java migration? also, I am more interested if that is a product and not a service.

Will it still be run in an AS/400 environment ?

The AS/400 (aka iSeries, i5, System i) is hardware. Java is a programming language. You can’t migrate a computer into a programming language.

The AS/400 has a integrated database UDB/400. Java is a programming language. You can’t migrate a database into a programming language.

I guess you could try to convert RPG or COBOL programs into Java (why?). I know some people have tried to re-write RPG code into Java, but the languages are so different it probably wopuld not be very effective code.

or, you could just run Java on the AS/400 directly. As Bill says, what are you trying to do ?
