Hi, whilst having problems with connectivity to AS400 sessions, was advised to restart the TELNET service. How do i do that, will a simple ENDHOSTTCP and STRHOSTSVR do? or do we have any specific procedure that need to be followed to? Thanks in advance

HI,

I think ENDTCPSVR and STRTCPSVR will restart the TCP service.

Hi,

Remember – don’t do this from a telnet session!!!

Martin Gilbert.

HI - endtcpsvr *telnet and strtcpsvr *telnet will not take down all services, only the telnet portion. If you have other services running, ending the whole of TCP will likely impact other jobs you have running. Steve

To go along with what Martin said - You can probably end and start the Telnet server from iSeries Navigator. Network > Servers > TCPIP and then right-click on the TENLET server. Regards Mike
