I've used Implementer, Aldon and TurnOver. For what was being done with them, Implementer was easiest to learn. However, it's also the one farthest back in my past. I currently use TurnOver frequently and have few issues that I haven't managed to figure out. Aldon was at a different site a number of years ago and now at a site I'm very slowly getting involved with -- it'll be a while before I have a clear level of comfort due to normal learning curve.

Each has better and... ummm... "less" better features. (I have no interest in downgrading any of them. They can be well suited for somewhat different needs.)

One question -- <i>We want tool to manage the movement of source code from one environment into another.</i>

Is there a reason you want to move the source code to production? Why wouldn't you move just compiled objects? For debug, a list view might be better. If the thought is that the objects would be recompiled on production, do you really want to have compilations that might be under two different system configurations? Doesn't that make the viability of your development a little riskier? Having source on production also raises the chance of direct changes on production.

Turnover is the most popular, but is costly
There are some freebee's on the web you can download.
We are looking at MKS and SEE/Change. At this time I do not know much about these two.

We have a development and Test enevironments on an AS/400 partition. We want tool to manage the movement of source code from one environment into another.
