Normally, I would say that your laptop has a typewriter-keyboard style with a numeric keypad sharing some of the letter keys. You have the <NumLock> turned on so that the digits are typed whenever you press a letter key that is shared with one of the digits. (You would see the digit printed on the key somewhere.)
But you say that typing “TTSS” results in 4 digits. And normally neither the “T” nor the “S” key would be one of the affected keys.
Turning <NumLock> off is a possibility. But if that doesn’t work, can you give a little more info?
Do all letter keys result in digits? Does the same digit appear every time you press the same letter?
Tom
