Depending on your needs as to why you need server access, I have another option. Some of our developers need access remotely and our solutions was a utility called LogMeIn. It let’s us take control of our work desktop from anywhere there is internet acsesss and we can do what’s needed. A VPN is not needed for this to work.

I would recommend some sort of VPN rather than open any 1352 access from the internet…. this would mean you would authenticate to the firewall / Active Directory and then you admin client / web would be secure and with no open ports. make sense?If this is for a web browser then all you would need to OPEN would be the port 80 from the outside in and publish the website.

Is your site accessible from outside? Does your ISP allow your needed ports through? It can depend on the service agreement. Then, if the traffic can even reach you, you need to configure any routers or firewalls at your site to pass the traffic, possibly even to forward it depending on how you want it to work. Note that once the ports are open, they’re open to the world. There should be nothing to do on your AS/400; it will essentially all be in your networking. — Tom
