I have forgotten my ad/400 520 PWD. Can anyone help me how I can enter in my system.
REGISTER or login:
First, you should contact your system administrator and request a password reset. If you are the system administrator, contact your system security officer and request a reset. If you are also the system security officer, then signon as QSECOFR and reset your password. If you have been using QSECOFR and forgot the password, use DST to reset the QSECOFR password to the default.
If none of those can be used, then it appears that the system has not been set up properly. Standard security protections were not put in place, so the operating system may need to be reinstalled from scratch. Or it's also possible to contract with IBM to have them perform resets for you. (I don't know what that costs.)
Tom thank you. But here is the situation. At last I started my AS/400 520. But I have forgotten my any PWD. Now I am trying to install O/S. But when I put my first, second, anf then 3rd CD there is a time when it asks you to sign on. Here I have fordotten my PWD. Also before installtion I have first screen to enter DST. I have also forgotten DST PWD. Can you tell me how I can retrieve it. I am everything, from admin to QSECOFR because it is in my house.
There is no "recovery" except by IBM service personnel unless you have an alternative security profile that you can sign on with. An alternative security profile should have both *ALLOBJ and *SECADM special authorities. By yourself, you can only do a complete scratch reinstall. Use the default password for a reinstall. For QSECOFR, the default password is [ QSECOFR ].
You either have some high-authority profile you can signon with or you don't. If you don't, then there is no recovery other than a complete reinstall using the default password. (Or contract IBM to do it.)
If you reinstall, you'll need all of your software license keys.
