 AS/400 printer setup
Anyone know of a good resource or training guide on everything there is to know about setting up printers on the 400? And troubleshooting them? All different makes and model.? How to even find out if they're compatible with what you're trying to print, etc. From kindergarten level on up. Thanks.

Answer Wiki:
First of all please install printer on your desktop, then on Emulator screen, click on Communication > configure > Specify work station id (and enter the printer session name whatever you want to give the name) and then just below to that select type of emulation printer > click on setup >then a pop up window will appear > check on Transform print data to ASCII on i-series > select the printer model > and press ok > ok , a pop window will appear and will ask your user id and password, once you give your user id and password the created priter session will get ready and then you will be able to take print of your spool files/ Reports. Please be aware that you will always need to have your PC connected and emulation running to use your printer this way.

@Gilly400 what if the Printer model im trying to install is not there? Ex Cannon LPB6000
what is the model i should choose from the available list?

Cannon LPB6000 printers use an older Canon GDI printer data stream. They’re appropriate for Windows 98 and earlier. There is no current iSeries Access printer definition for it. I don’t think there ever was one. I’m not sure if there is even a current Windows printer driver for it.
