It’s possible to use the system values QINACTITV and QINACTMSGQ to call a program to handle an idle job.

When the job exceeds the QINACTITV a message is sent to the QINACTMSGQ message queue. You can write a program to wait for the message to be received and “process” the idle job (for example send a message to QSYSOPR and disconnect the idle job).
