How do AS400 interact with G/L system by running a job monthly?

Generally there are jobs that are scheduled to process as soon as all activity has been entered for a calandar month. These jobs will produce Monthly and YTD reports/files and update any monthly total fields that may exist. Any MTD values would be reset to zero.

Are you asking how to schedule a monthly job on an AS/400? Or do you want a technical description of how G/L operations might be handled on an AS/400?

Want to know how G/L operations are handled. In fact am not aware of this G/L. This general Ledger credit or debit details can exist in an As400 machine or a separate platform?

AS/400s are intended to be “business” systems. Functions such as G/L are what AS/400s have been designed to handle. An AS/400 could also be used to access a G/L on just about any other platform if necessary.
