The best way to do this is to make the tray you want the AS400 to pull from tray number 1 directly on the printer. You can do this on most printers through the printers front panel or their web interface.
Otherwise you can change the print file for each report (CHGPRTF) and change the "Source drawer".

Your software should indicate which tray to pull from. Most of our printers are IBM, which work fine. However, HP printers will not pull for the correct tray unless you have the device configuration configured correctly. The key is the Manufacturer type and model. Refer to the IBM Software Technical Document # 21800146:

I'm pretty sure that even if it is configured correctly it will want to pull from the drawer that is configured on the printer as drawer 1 unless the print file says otherwise. These is nothing on the print device or OUTQ to specify which drawer.

I have a question related to this: I recently got a new computer w/windows7 and use as400. I noticed on my printer session under page setup that I no longer see the button to access printer properties. Is there a way to get that to show up? I need more control than just what drawer to pull from, e.g. Duplexing options
Ladon04 you may want to re-post this as a new question. I’m not sure you’re getting all the technicians chiming in on this question because of how the thread shows up on the questions page.

I think you need to be using iSeries Access v7r1 for compatibility with Win7….
Is it possible with that version to have “printer button” show up under page set up tab in the session like I used in the previous versions of as400?
I couldn’t say as I am using iSeries Access v5r4 on XP.
I don’t normally use a printer session, but I set one up and had a look for this button you say is missing, I can’t see it.
