Hi, I need to FTP from IFS of an AS/400 to a remote server using encrypted/secure transfer. Destination server may not be necessarily an AS/400. I am able to transfer the reports simply, but it has to be encrypted/secure.

Software/Hardware used:
AS400

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

We’re sending files/reports to a remote site from the IFS. We don’t use the AS400 ftp command, though I think you could.

We simply map a drive to the IFS folder, and use a SFTP client called WinSCP. it’s shareware, and easy to use.

Have you tried by converting the reports to binary form. I think it will help you. Pradeep.

We send files, some from the IFS, securely using SSL (FTP RMTSYS([remote system]) SECCNN(*SSL). Setting it up involved certificates and navigating the somewhat counter-intuitive Digital Certificate Manager. SFTP has been discussed in this forum previously - a quick search should give you a good idea of what's involved.
