		<description><![CDATA[we usually keep our console powered off and turn it on only in  rare situations.  In fact, I use one console for two AS/400 and just move the cables as necessary.  We never vary off or anything.  

Just power off the console and then move it.  ]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[As long as you are reconnecting to the same cable/port on the AS/400, you don&#039;t even have to vary off the device.  You can even change terminals as long as the new terminal has the correct device address configured.  Make sure you have signed off before you turn off the console.  Also, I am referring to &quot;dumb terminals&quot;, I have not had any experience using a PC as the system console.]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[As long as you&#039;re able to telnet to the AS400, you can vary the device off, move the console, then vary it back on after you reconnect it. The only time i&#039;ve seen a problem is when you ipl the AS400 without the console connected.]]></description>
