 AS/400 Connectivity
We just brought up our 2nd AS400 (model 520), our other AS400 is a model 270. The 270 is the current production computer and will be replaced by the 520 eventually. We made all the setting the same in the 2 computers with the exception of the IP addresses in the host tables. We use a laptop as a console on the 520. When we plug the console directly into the 520 it connects with no problem, but when we connect it into the router we are unable to connect, ping, or do other anything. I don't feel it's the router because everything else going through the router is working just fine. Thank You, Douglas L McDuffie

Answer Wiki:
Is the laptop setup as a static address or is it getting DHCP? Another thing you can check is if the port on the router is working or if it is in another VLAN. Another thing to consider is the Auto Negotiation on the Switch to which the 520 is attached I have had to hard set the Speed and Duplex on the iSeries before with some switches models. I would also make sure your Lan Console Subnet is appropriate you want to have it closed as much as you can. Check your Routes by using CFGTCP option 2 making sure your default route is set.
