Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Compatible or comparable? Don’t really know the question but my guess is that you are wondering if you can run windows on an as400. If that is the case please check this link out.

...if as400 is competable with any software like windows vista Please clarify your question. Are you wanting to know if an AS/400 can communicate with a Windows PC? Or do you want to know if Windows programs can run on an AS/400? Windows PCs and AS/400s work and communicate fine in a network. However, Windows programs must run on Windows systems; they can't run on AS/400s. They use different processors and they run different operating systems. There are hardware adapters available that will support integrated Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2003 Server instances. These allow Windows Server instances to co-exist within the same hardware box as the AS/400. Please describe what you are needing to accomplish. What business problem are you trying to solve? Tom

We use Client Access for iSeries on XP, Vista, and Win7 too. But I agree with Tom, what exactly are you wanting to do?

We use Client Access for iSeries on XP, Vista, and Win7 too. However, it can depend on the OS version and release. There are versions/releases of Windows and AS/400 operating systems that are compatible; and other combinations are not. Both OSes have changed over the past couple of decades. You can still find old copies of both OSes running at sites around the world. Without knowing more details, the answer is both "Yes" and "No". Tom
