Job on jobq did not complete printing and has caused a/p program not to run. How do I delete this problem. When I start a new job, it tells me job still running re-submit. How do I fix this? This is an AS/400 system.

I'm confused. You said a job on the jobq went to the printer. To go to a printer something must come from a Spool Queue.

SO are you have a printing problem or a job processes problem?

Job may be waiting for a response .. DSPMSGF QSYSOPR or WRKACTJOB may allow you to find the job and respond to the message.

Basically, you are getting a message from your application program.  You need to check with the program developer.

If it's your job that didn't complete, try WRKSBMJOB command.

You need to check with the software developer of your a/p programs.

The message "conflicting job running" is an application message.

There might be a value in a data area that was left when a job ended abnormally. You might want to check what the submitted job is checking tp see if it is OK to run. There iht be a "traffic cop" stopping it.
A job moves from the jobq, get processed in the subsystem and starts producing the output. Follow the trail to see where is the holdup.
    Good Luck

PgmBob is right.  The lock might be imposed by a specific value in a data area.  But it could also be a status field in one of the AP files or the status field or existance of a row in a AP process control file.  If you have the source code and a programmer you can track it down.
