Answer Wiki

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

What are you using to insert the record?

A RPG/COBOL program?

SQL?

DBU?

DFU?

If it is interactive, use the ‘-’ key on your 10 key pad.

If a program you can multiple the value * -1

in UPDDTA 15.12- in Display files there are edit codes that don't show / allow negatives.

{Field-exit} might be needed, it might be a Zoned field that's displayed without a separate sign, or other additional possibilities. Without knowing the actual problem, there's no way to know an appropriate answer.   Tom

Editing specified in the field definition could also cause a negative value not to display as such.
