First, what is a “PAT NO”? What could you get from looking at the physical that’s needed and that couldn’t be found by going into SST?

Can you please tell me how I can fix it.

No.

I would begin by powering the system down. Then I would remove the drive and reinsert it, being careful to notice every small step. It’s possible that it simply needs to make better connections. Then power the system back up.

If a simple reseating doesn’t allow it to work, a hardware service call is probably needed. If ‘parity’ remains as an actual error, a system restore might be called for — after hardware service.

Sorry, It is PART No. Because I wanted to order another hard drive. So I needed the PART NO.

…I needed the PART NO.

Okay, that is understood.

However, part numbers can be accessed from within the system’s service tools functions. You can use the STRSST command to enter service tools with a service profile/password. The Hardware Service Managerlets you review hardware.

Alternatively, iSeries Navigator can drill into Configuration and Service (with a service profile/password) to access hardware properties.

Unfortunately, none of that will help if you need actual hardware service.
