That could mean many different things, depending on the company/organization you talk to. The only real way to know is to ask someone within the organization. It could be something like building one-off, single-run code/queries for users to satisfy ad-hoc requests or something very structured and formal like on-call rotation to support the system software/hardware that supports the daily business processes.

Support Teams could mean the team who directly support the users queries and questions. Like NullFields says these varies with organisation structures. Its often relative to the organisation.
In very small companies, there is usually just one team handling all aspects of IT. In larger organisations the funtions are split into teams, one of which maybe the Production Support Team.
