Answer Wiki:
IBM provides several classes on System i (which is the current name for the product line initially introduced as the AS/400). One starting point would be here. There are also educational offerings available through other companies -- google on 'iSeries training'. Depending on your location you may also find a local community college that offers System i education. In your google search, you will probably come across Manta Technologies, Inc. My employer has graciously bought the entire series for System i basic training, and while I appreciate it, it has not been very impressive. The extent of their “interactive” training involves a simulated green screen where you are instructed to input commands that you just read about, which has not been much help. I ordered their “manuals” in print to accompany the online training, and they were literally just screenshots of each lesson – not much help. Since we have the training bought already, i’ll go ahead and work thru it, but overall I would not recommend it.
