Would it be possible for you to hold the out queue that you have specified for the user under the user profile?

You can also send all his/her spool files to one outq which wtr is not started, so, he/she can start it to print whenever he/she wants.

You could also do this with RPM Remote Print Manager. We've been helping a lot of 400 users in our client base by installing RPM on a Windows PC. RPM allows the 400 print files to come in and they can be manually or automatically held, then released once approved. Plus, you can also have RPM create an automatic archive of every print job coming from the AS400 output queue as a PDF file. Then if needed, it can be automatically emailed. RPM has saved quite a few of our iSeries users time and pain with it's AS400 print queue management. Wishing you the best of luck with this! Best, Frank

Nordan's solution is the simplest and cheapest. Create an outq and change the user's profile so that outq is her default. Unless you application sends some spool files to specific outq's, all her output will go to her outq. If she has a printer of her own, create the outq as part of the printer device creation and a print writer can be started and stopped when needed. If not, use the 2=Change option in wrksplf to move the reports she wants to print to an outq with an active writer. Leo Burkett
