AS/400: Write header details to flat file

Hi, I have a flat file program in RPGILE. I need to write the header details (which is given by user in display screen) to flat file. When user given company is 50 then that should to write header part like company=50. Program is successfully write the records to flat file addition to that i need to write the header details to flat file so please advice...

The header should be the first thing written to the flat file.

FlatFile = 'CO=' + Co#
Write FlatFileRec

then loop to write other records.

    You may also want to put a record format ID in the records so you know what type of data it is. Example 01 = header, 02=detail  or better yet say in position 1 put an "H" or "D". that way if there are multiple headers you will be able to find them. Otherwise you would have to substring the records looking for an identifier.
