Recent survey data found that Windows Server 2003 is still the dominant server OS in the market. If your enterprise uses it, do you have plans to upgrade to Windows Server 2008 (or Windows Server 8, when it's released in 2012)? Why or why not?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

We are currently in the process of testing out 2008 R2. We really don’t have much of a choice since we work on an Army installation and when they say to upgrade, we upgrade. Heck, they made us upgrade to Vista, now, in just one year after completion, we are testing the Windows 7 image for deployment. At least I can put on my resume all of the testing and deployments over the network for the upgrades of the OS’s, not the NOS’s.

Thanks for the insight. Have any of you run into issues due to not having upgraded? (compatibility, tools, etc.)

nope, so far we are good, but when there are things that need to upgrade (like changes in .net framework versions, java version n etc), then we will update those things that i just mention... we havent hit any roadblocks yet, but lets see how in the future..

lack of budget to buy all the new CAL's we would need prevents us from upgrading.
