Try disabling and re-enabling he quota limitiation on his account – may need to be cleared out and “reset” to alleviate the error emails…

I had a new user Outlook 2010 on SBS 2003 32bit server. Mailbox quota 2GB and he tried to moved over 5GB of mail from his old account. I have use the Compact utility and it got it down to 3.7GB. Thin I started moving emails back to the archived folders.

He mailbox is below 66MB and I still get the over quota error and the mail account is locked. Can’t Send/Receive, I’m Stomped please Help.

the exchange is 2003 , the client is 2003 and 2007 as well

That depends on what version of exchange. You have not told us either the Exchange version or the Outlook version you are working with.

Thanks for your reply. I am using the Exmerge utility to extract the data from the exchange server to a PST file. Would Exmerge create the new format file automatically to cater for mailboxes over 2GB in size?

Since version 2003 of Outlook there is a new PST format that supports files bigger than 2 GB. Just select the appropriate format when creating the new PST file.
