After I archive, the storage % does not decrease. How do I fix this?

hp laptop

By archiving to a folder outside of Outlook and ensuring that Outlook is not mapped to it.  If it is, then the percentage will not change.

    Two general possibilities (1) that the archive file needs to be moved to off-line storage, and (2) that the e-mail folders need to be compressed to recover space from the archived items. The laptop OS and the e-mail client need to be known at a minimum to have any further idea. -- Tom

    Firstly run the scanpst.exe utility to check any error and then use the approach of compacting the PST file either manually or automatically with the help of a tool. This will definitely reduce the size of your Outlook PST file. But remember that compacting manually may take lots of time depending upon the size of PST. Regards Mariapeter
