Q:
Lotus Notes 8 archive policy deleted my archive folder
I created an archiving policy to move my notes to the archive at the end of one day. Then I created a folder in my Inbox database, the problem I did not see comming is that the folder name was the same as another folder I had in the archive database;after the archiving happened, I had lost all of my notes in that folder and I only had the notes I sent to the folder in my inbox database. Is there a way to recover the content of my original folder in the archive database? or was it [em]overwritten[/em]?? :o( If there is a way to recover my original folder in the archive please let me know!!

First of all recheck the policy you have created .
Second of all you can get every thing back in case you used to back up your emails periodically .

If you check in the ALL Documents view you will see that the emails that were in the old folder are still there. They just cant be seen in the new view.

Check the design of the DB and you should see the two folder views. Try and rename the new one and then close and reopen the DB. Hopefully the old folder will reapear or hit CTRL > Shift > F9

Try that
