Archive Email over slow VPN Connection
A user has a 8gb mailbox running cached exchange mode. They access emails over a slow WAN connection from a laptop. They need access to up to date emails on both systems 24/7. What is the best solution? Cache the OST and hope it doen't go corrupt? Archive? Thanks Tom

Answer Wiki:
Archiving will allow for better indexing within the file, but as far as reducing the actual size of the box, it won't dramatically reduce it. With a box that big i would simply go back a certain amount of time, explort into a pst and then have that archived so the most recent emails (and a much smaller size pst and box can be indexed.

You could also setup outlook client to only download headers on slow connections. This has hleped me in the past with slow connections.
