 Windows XP SP3 application migration

My client has an application installed on an old pc. He does not have the install disk, is there a way to backup the file and export the registry and restore the app plus import the registry? Win xpSp3

1. Try to contact the vendor and get another setup disk, should not be a big issue.
2. Logon to the OLD XP machine and backup the application data
3. Reinstall application from vendor and reload users data.
