Does anyone have a suggestion on how to take the contents of a text field, and append it (to the top) to a second text field, clear the first text field, and then save the document. I have a web site where I am trying to do something similar to a comments box. My knowledge of lotusscript is limited, so I'm hoping to come up with something using either Formula Language, or write it in Javascript. Any suggestions would be very helpful. cheers

Not sure where you’re really having problems with this. From a pseudo-code standpoint

Comment = “blah blah blah”
History = Comment + History
Comment = “”
Save

    Formula language--- Field2 := Field1 : Field2; Field1 := @DeleteField

    ...or, you might need to use: @SetField("Field2"; Field1 : Field2); @SetField("Field1"; "")

    Go to QuerySave and add: @If(CommentEdit != ""; @Do(@SetField("CommentHistory"; "______________________________" : (@Name([CN]; @UserName) + " on " + @Text(@Now)) : CommentEdit : CommentHistory); @SetField("CommentEdit"; "");

    Not getting it to work.. yet.. So maybe a few more questions? If I'm submitting this through the web, should I be using WebQuerySave instead? Also, I do have other validation happening on the form, such as code in the JS Header. Can I still use:
    _getEditAppletData();
    doSubmit()

    to submit the form? Finally, I did use two fields... one is set up like this:
    <textarea name="CommentEdit" rows="8" cols="80"><Computed Value></textarea>
    (the computed value is "CommentEdit") Then I have a computed field below, titled "CommentHistory" with a default value of "CommentHistory" Does that all make sense? Plus, the code you were providing, makes sense so far... but I had to rewrite it as:
    @If(comments!="";@Do(@SetField("CommentHistory";"______________________________" : (@Name([CN]; @UserName) + " on " + @Text(@Now)) : comments : CommentHistory));"");
    @SetField("comments";"")
