We have a Test Framework in Java.  This framework is used to test client-server and web applications. To test web applications we are recording application flows for wrappers/Action keywords using Selenium IDE. Selenium provided Java driver to execute the recorded selenium specific code in wrappers. Similarly I want to use our test framework to test desktop applications. I know AutoIT (open source) can be used to record the desktop application flows, but AutoIT is not providing Java support to invoke the recorded wrappers from our test framework. Is there any tools using which we can record desktop application flows and the recorded scripts can be executed using Java? Please share your experiences.

Moreover, select proper tools, which they are varied for view, business logic & validation components. For an example, if you are using servlet, bean & java classes, then jsfunit from Jboss is a powerful tool for both unit & integration testing. It helps in testing both the view component and the server side components. Or if you are trying for Java performance/load testing, then you can try Apache Jmeter which is an open source tool for load/performance testing.
