Hello, When a RF gun/device which is connected to a AS/400 workstation suddenly goes down due to poor RF signals in specific area, is there any way to immediately kill the AS/400 session. Currently, when the RF signal drops, the Session remains active retaining the record level locks and hence requires that the AS/400 session is being forcefully killed. Any other suggestion to solve the problem is also welcome.

The appropriate actions depend on whether or not the disconnection is detected by your application. If no error is detected, then no action can be taken. If there is a signal, we need to know what it is. -- Tom

Thanks for the reply Tom. Just curious to know if it is technically possible to identify the loss of RF signal from an AS400 system. I would like to know if the session can be killed automatically as soon as the RF signal drops/RF guns go down. Thanks Again.

In that case, yes, it's possible. -- Tom

Ok.Is it something to be done on the AS400 side ? or needs some setting on the RF gun side. Can you please give additional information/pointers on how this can be done in case you have any information. This has become a very frequent issue leading to record locks. Thanks
