Any advice from your latest Disaster Recovery review?
Open IT ForumJust curious if you have any advice from your latest disaster recovery review on what elements deserve particular attention. Frank Lady offers disaster recovery advice on SearchDisasterRecovery, but I'm curious as to whether elements like Swine Flu are playing part in how you sketch out how to recover from various scenarios. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Answer Wiki:
Many people have found that they didn't think things through when it came to their business impact analysis and that everything always takes more time than they assume it will. The VPN consideration is valid as well. There's hardly ever enough inbound bandwidth when you need it in a situation like this - especially when users are accessing actual files and apps remotely rather than connecting in via Remote Desktop, Citrix, etc.

To chime in — one point of concern I’ve heard from a few people is the issue of VPN load with larger percentages of organizations opting to work from home during flu season. With this follows the topic of network security, which some users previously discussed with me here.
