Is it possible to automatically scan my computer, say every hour? I wanted to create a tool that can automatically scan all computers on a LAN in a given interval. IT is my research area so I was just wondering if its already done.

It might be possible, but it hardly seems reasonable. I rarely see a decent scan that can complete in an hour. Your systems might not have time to get anything else done. — Tom

running a full scan can also take hours depending on hard disk size and and it will surely slow down the pc. i dont think you will need to scan every hour as scanning daily is more than enough
